Letter From the Southwind Neighborhood Crime Watch Captain

Hello neighbors, my name is Kathy Powell and I am pleased to announce that I am the new Southwind Neighborhood Crime Watch Captain. My husband and I recently moved to Southwind from about 1 mile away in Mansfield! At my previous residence I served as Crime Watch Captain for about 2 years. And before moving here I was able to organize the first ever National Night Out party our subdivision had ever had and was blessed to see it grow. I recently retired from Trauma nursing but have always been interested in public safety and police work. I recently graduated as Class President from the Mansfield Police Departments Citizens Police Academy. And I have recently graduated from the Arlington Police Departments Citizen On Patrol class as well. This course has now given me the authority to patrol the streets of Arlington and better yet Southwind. You will probably see me slowly driving around on our streets making sure everyone is safe and there are no suspicious activities taking place. Remember I am NOT a police officer nor am I employed by the HOA or the city of Arlington. I am highly interested in seeing our neighborhood as safe as possible for all who reside here. I have volunteered our committee to assist Tony with pool safety as well. I am in need of some help with the safety of our neighborhood in the form of Crime Watch committee members. Many hands make light work and there are no special abilities needed besides wanting to see our neighborhood safe.
